More Yellowstone

Yellowstone

Becky & Randy took their family to Yellowstone this year for vacation.  They were nice enough to invite us along with them, but both Allen and I had to work and were not able to take the time off.  So they invited the kids and Grandma Ruby along.  What is scary is that our kids are spaced enough apart that they literally could be all brother and sisters.  So Becky and Randy just looked like a family of 7 kids with Grandma along to help out!  My kids had so much fun!  They were gone for a week travelling around Yellowstone and then ending up in Jackson Hole.  This is where they met Grandma Glenna and then spent a week at Grandma's in Idaho.  We are so blessed to have such great family.  Allen and I had such a busy summer with work and did not get to do too many fun things with the kids.  But our family made sure they made some good memories.

The day they left, the trailer tire blew apart around Idaho Falls.  It was early enough in the day that they were able to get it fixed and continue on their way.  There were so many people that they actually had to take two vehicles.  Randy pulled the trailer with the suburban and Becky and Mom drove the van.  At night they all stayed in the trailer, which I hear was chaos with so many people.  But by the end of the week they had a routine down and the days were so busy that everyone was tired enough to all fall asleep at the same time.

They went to a play in West Yellowstone one of the nights, which the kids really enjoyed.  And they saw animals galore!  As I talked to them during the week (which was as often as I would have liked due to the cell service being so spotty in the Park), I heard all about the animals they saw that day.  One of the times I was talking to them through the on-star phone and they were stopped on the highway because there were buffalo in the middle of the road.  The kids were screaming and yelling because they were so excited about it!

They also took their bikes and rode around at the campgrounds in the evenings.  This was a big part of their favorite times as well.  Sam went on and on about being able to ride around and up and down on the trails.  She loved it.  Rock took his little ride along and had a blast as well.  Danni loved seeing all the animals and she really liked the play.  They love the trip the so much that they were begging for us to be able to go next summer.  Now the kids are enjoying themselves with Allen's mom and sisters in Idaho.  Mom came home and then left again to visit Becky and Kris.  She's taking advantage of the time she isn't needed to watch my kids.  She has been such a blessing to us this year, I don't know what we would do without her!

Next week is the Wilstead Famly Reunion, so I am trying to get ready for that as well as Sam's birthday party this Saturday.  She is turning 12!!  Growing up way too fast and it is NOT FAIR!
